Finally, A Hot Shower

13 Dec 2007 @ 15:02

When we moved into our house last December, one of the things that wasn’t finished was the shower in the new bathroom. In March, the glass was installed and we were able to use it. Sometime over the Summer, the tiles near the opening started cracking as the shower glass caused some settling. That meant we weren’t able to use it until we got the tiles fixed. Last Friday, we had someone come and fix the tiles but we had to wait to make sure the cement was really dry. Christine’s dad came Tuesday and put some silicone around the edge and that needed a couple days to dry.

This morning it was dry enough to use and it felt great. Our other shower has a thermostat on it and it seems to be broken because while it gets warm, it’s impossible to make it hot. It also shares the boiler with the heating system so there are times when I run out of hot water in the morning. Our bathroom has a separate boiler and no thermostat on the faucet so I can take nice long, hot showers.
