Fat Lady Update 1
17 weeks of pregnancy have passed already, so I decided that it is about time that I start giving you short updates in the next weeks.
Honestly, I must have been lucky so far, because I didn’t have to deal with any morning sickness. Thank ..!
My hormones changes have made me cry with most TV shows, even just watching the European track meet caused me to get all emotional
In the morning I have been a little dizzy a few times, but nothing serious. Twice I had a bloody nose, according to all pregnancy books this is a normal thing. I was surprised to read that my hard increased significantly in size…pretty cool.
Jon wants to call the baby “lump” while I prefer “Junior” for the time being. We didn’t start thinking about names yet. To make the name search easier, we like to wait till we know the gender. I do have the feeling that finding this perfect name won’t be very easy.
My last exam was Friday, unfortunately Jon arrived 5 minutes too late at the appointment and missed the exam. Everything looks very normal according to the gynecologist. She couldn’t identify the gender yet because (junior) didn’t want to move much. At my previous visit, they checked the thickness of the neck fold and junior really moved a lot. Those monthly exams are really fun and were till now the only way for us to realize what is happening.
I’m glad that I have 2 older sisters that already went through the whole pregnancy thing. Not only do they give good advice and warn me about which crazy habits I shouldn’t do anymore (like swinging on the stairway) but I also received 3 boxes with pregnancy clothing. I warned my colleagues that my pants will be about an inch too short (because I’m the tall one in the family).
This weekend I will need to go though all the pregnancy clothes and hang them up in my closet – my normal (fat) pants are getting too tight.
I attached the latest echo image. You can now see the face and back. The doctor told me that the baby is now about 160 grams which is only about 3 slices of ham . When you look at my stomach you would imagine that I’m already carrying something that weighs about 4 pounds =)
That’s all for our first update.
