Fat Lady Update 8

12 Dec 2006 @ 14:59

Tonight I arrived home around 8:30pm from work and had to choose between packing another 5 boxes or finally write a fat lady update. Guess what I decided to do…

I actually just looked up what I wrote in my previous update, which was a good 6 weeks ago. Lot’s has been done in such a short time. My stomach for example has tripled in size. OK…maybe only doubled in size.

In the attached picture, you will see that I finally beat Jon at something…I have a bigger belly ;)

Junior Lump became also very active. Finally it’s very obvious when (s)he moves or better has a party in mommy’s tummy.

Last Friday Jon and I went for our last Dr. visit of the year. According to our gynecologist everything is going as planned and the weight/length is right on the average curve. I’m so glad that being pregnant (for me) has been the easiest project ever (so far)!

As before, I have continued focusing on the renovations. We went through some ups and downs as we all expected.

After finishing the cemented floor, we started painting the inside of the house. The guys only gave me 3 days to decide on the colors…this is obviously not enough time for a woman to decide which colors to use in about 8 rooms. Also the main stairway has been cleaned up and repainted. We drove all the way to the Netherlands to go shopping for a toilet. We finally found something that looks a little more designer, but it’s leaking.

My favorite piece in the house is the parquet – I personally love it!

Oh yeah, the installation of the kitchen certainly didn’t go as planned. Our ovens/microwave ovens were placed too high even for Jon and myself. To fix the problem we had one side of the kitchen completely redone – allowing Susan to use it also without using a step or wearing heels that are 5 inches tall ;)

We certainly missed all of you the most during thanksgiving weekend. Very sadly my grandmother passed away just the Sunday that we planned to have our first real turkey dinner together with my sister, Caroline, and the rest of her family. Because the turkey was already in the oven, Jon and I ended up having turkey dinners for the following 5 days.

This same weekend, we went to Brussels to meet up with some friends. When we returned to Jon’s car, one window was smashed and…they broke into the trunk. They only stole my laptop from work. It was a very big hassle not having a computer for a week, but I think it was a sign that I shouldn’t need to worry about all those 1300 emails which I didn’t processed yet. I actually lost all my emails – the rest was saved on our servers (luckily).

Last week I hosted a big meeting in Barcelona. It was my last business trip as well.(no worries) It was fun to finish with a great evaluation (88%) of all participants.

I’m only working till this Friday and then I will most likely stop working for a good 4-5 months =) If I feel ok, I might still return for a few days in January, but otherwise I just stay home. Jealous yet? ;) Jon only has 2 more days to work this month – it’s the good part about working in Europe.

We are getting ready for our move next Friday, December 22nd. I do not realize that we are actually moving into our “new” re-modeled house. It’s very exciting.
We finished all our plans in the house on time – except the garage and the outdoors will be for 2007.

It’s time to go to bed for me and Junior Lump

Most likely you will receive our next update from … our new villa
