Fat Lady Update 9
We are back…
First of all, we’d like to wish all of you the best for 2007!
14 days ago we packed up all our stuff in Lier and moved to our new house in Schiplaken (Brussels). It still feels that it’s only a few days ago. We have been busy putting our furniture back together, taking the protective cardboard off the floor, unpacking most of the boxes. We still have about three dozen boxes waiting for us. Moving certainly helps you clean up all the crap that you accumulate over the years.
For New Year’s Eve, we had our first party baptizing our house together with 10 friends. Jon did very well in the new kitchen – and impressed the guests with a 5 course meal. We just found out that one of our friends got engaged just after leaving our party
Many things fell in place just on-time allowing us to have heating in the house, be able to cook on our new stove (with a the special control knob that was missing) and have a yard that wasn’t covered with trash.
After a two week “moving” holiday, I realized that it’s better that I don’t return back to work. Junior Lump is now my first priority. I just cleaned his/her room and started unpacking all the baby boxes from my sisters, I went to the physical therapist for some prenatal exercises today and went to the printer to gather some ideas for the baby cards.
Many more items are on our to-do list, but within the next week we will be able to finalize the most urgent ones. So let’s hope that junior lump listens well and follows our planning
We decided to save 20 Euros a month and canceled our home phone number. You can still reach us via our mobile phones. And since 2 hours ago, we can check our emails again and watch cable TV – we only had a month delay, which is not abnormal knowing the customer service level you can expect in Belgium. I only managed getting everything fixed today, because I lost my patience and mentioned that I would escalate it to their CEO which I (don’t) know. Some tricks really work..
We hope to send some pictures of the new abode next week.

I just want to know who came up with the “Fat Lady” name?

Christine came up with the name. Although I’m sure I probably called her fat a couple times.
